The centralization of the tourism development of Southern Bali requires some infrastructure provisions
to support its activities. However, it is struggling with the limited range of area thus leading to a solution
of maximally benefiting from the tide area of Benoa Bay through reclamation. The governor’s letter of
permit for this reclamation has been published, but following the announcement, there have been pros
and cons among the Balinese. As print media, the national daily news Kompas and local daily news Bali
Post have shared their contribution by reporting the emerging polemics regarding the issue of Benoa
Bay reclamation. This research aims to describe how Kompas and Bali Post report the news related to
Benoa Bay reclamation. The method used for this research is qualitative approach by using constructionist
paradigm and Robert M. Entman’s framing model. As a result, there are different report framing found in
both media. Kompas tends to be impartial, bringing up the issue of reclamation impact from two points of
view. Bali Post, on the other hand, as a local media that preserves Balinese cultural values, tends to reject
the idea of reclamation by reporting the bad impact of Benoa Bay reclamation to the environment.
