This annotated bibliography provides an overview of the scholarly literature on pre-cinema and silent cinema in Latin America. Organized by country (the sections are written by specialists), it reviews research examining film texts; production, distribution, exhibition; related phenomena like fan culture and film criticism; and relations between cinema and other media, such as photography and literature.
