The contributions of the (so called) Fourth Industrial Revolution and its developments to the tourism economy during the past century, the effects of the technological developments in the digital and mobile areas on tourism industry have been also examined in different studies. However, it is obvious that especially high-tech developments accelerated after 2015 will have more impact than the sum of all of them on tourism and gastronomy. With this paper, it is targeted to create a mental preparation infrastructure against situations that can be encountered within the scope of Industry 4.0 technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, multidimensional printers (e.g. 3D-4D), robots and automation, holographic applications. Besides in the light of information of this theoritical paper, it would be possible to discuss the effects of these developments on touristic businesses’ financials and on tourism economy. The existing concepts against new ones are compared with this theoretical study aiming to be a resource for future academic studies.
