Seroprevalence studies in India have indicated that a significant proportion of the
population remains susceptible to VZV infection well into adulthood. Further, a
review of the hospital records shows that chickenpox cases are on the rise in
Delhi. This article is an attempt to discuss about the recent rise in the number of
cases of chickenpox in the city and the atypical presentation of the cases afflicted
with the disease.
