The peculiarities of consumer rights protection, which are regulated by civil law, are considered. The main factors influencing the level of consumerprotection protection are presented and analyzed, namely: imperfect legislation; insufficient financing, materia land technical and personnel base; lack of consumer education; consumers’ ignorance of their rights; inactivity of central and local authorities and local self-government bodies regarding the realization of consumer rights and interests; corruption in the authorities; distrust of citizens. The peculiarities of protection of consumer rights in the European Union are studied. The article analyzes the issues of harmonization of national law in the field of consumer rights protection in the acquis communautaire.
