Objective: to analyze how Andragogy is used in the educational actions performed by the
nurse found in the scientific literature. Methods: This is an Integrative Literature Review. The
following databases were consulted: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences
(LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Nursing Database (BDENF) and Virtual
Health Library (VHL). After the selection procedure, the sample of primary studies had six
scientific articles. With the material organized in an illustrative reference, the Content Analysis
in thematic modality was used to the findings of the selected articles. Results: Two thematic
categories were seized: “Employment of Andragogy in the educational actions of the nurse”;
and “Andragogy in the training of the nursing professional”. Final considerations: Andragogy
related to the educational work of nurses is used in educational processes with clients/patients
and the professional team, expressing through active listening, sharing of experiences,
interaction of knowledge, problem-based learning, learning contracts and the promotion of safe
and reliable environments. Andragogy is also visualized in the training of the nursing
professional, anchored to meaningful learning.
