Some subjects have the possibility to choose the trip as their way of life, they areuprooted from a fixed territory to move in a semi or unstructured way for an indefinite time, financing themselves while they travel and with no future projection other than to continue traveling. Theirchoicesareconsidered as individual lifesproject that integrates specific practices, dispositions, appearances and discourses. This article presents the methodology of the thesis "Choosing to be nomad in the contemporary society" (Oyhantcabal, 2016) that seeks to understand the way of life of this type oftravellers based on the subjective elements that shape their choices, practices and representations regarding to space and time, and the experiences and representations of work and subsistence. The research was carried out from a multisite ethnography with field work with travellers in different formats and in multiple scenarios
