This work, part of an undergraduate thesis research in Anthropological Sciences, describesthe general characteristics of radios managed by and intended for the Bolivian population residing in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires. It also addresses the existing tensions related to the identity of these radios (whether they are community radiosor commercial radios). For fulfilling these goals, the history of Bolivian broadcasting is reconstructed. We will be able to see how these radios, immersed in a migratory context, synthezise a variety of elements (coming from the community field and from the commercial field) of different orders (political, economic, legal and sociocultural) whose interactions extend beyond the strictly communicational role.
