This study was carried out to analyze the use of pig manure as fertilizer on crops, trying to identify the means of management in the use of manure as fertilizer, analyze the advantages and disadvantages of this practice, focusing on environmental issues. The method was field research through semi-structured interviews and content analysis. With regard to the handling, packaging of waste and environmental standards, producers are gradually adapting, even in a slow and often precarious. Although the producers are aware of the potential pollution from pig farming, we can see, a productivist approach by some producers. Even practiced by producers in a cautious manner, being aware of their risk polluting, alternative is still far from being exercised correctly.
