The paper discusses how the moral values are not universalistic in nature. The act is evaluated as right or wrong in the light of the prevailing situation in which it occurs. The paper presents an exemplary parent-child discourse revolving around the value of sharing. It is evident from the analysis that the mother in this context is not encouraging of her child's act of sharing, as according to her the other person's need was not genuine. The discursive method of analysis helps in understanding the moral value as embedded in everyday interaction, rather than studying it in a decontextualized fashion.
