A great deal of emphasis has been given to the urbanisation in the century we live in. The fountains have been primary cultural heritages which are being demolished for the sake of urban transformation and urban renewal. A total of ten fountains have been detected in an area survey which was carried out in Göynük, Mengen and Mudurnu; those towns contain various cultural heritages and samples of domestic architecture in their town texture. Detected fountains have been examined with respect to the art history and their places in Turkish-Islamic architecture are sought to identify.
