The article describes main aspects of the fundamental transition in philosophical understanding of cinema and modern view on the interrelation between the directions, works of motion picture art and contemporary societies. The interpretation of cinema esthetics with allocation of the general features of the cinema concepts of beauty is covered from positions of social philosophy. Existence and sense of considerable specific influence of cinema and society at each other in various conditions of political formations is shown on the example of the periodized history of the Russian-Soviet cinema.
