The present article discusses the urban space production model in Brazil in the last fifty years, especially for dispersion of the population in vast urban spots and its consequences on urban travel, and having Manaus - Amazonas as an analytical reference.We conclude that this model is responsible for bringing people to travel long distances, and that on the basis of priority modes of transport (buses and private vehicles), has been responsible for launching the atmosphere huge amount of CO2 and other greenhouse gases.
