4’,5,7-trihydroxy-3’-methoxyflavanone and 3’,4’,5,7-tetrahydroxyflavanone has been synthesized by novel method. The key step for the synthesis of these two compounds is ring closing reaction of chalcone is catalyzed by nickel chloride. The yield of reaction is good, less drastic reaction condition, shorter reaction time.
