Description: This study assessed the reaction of rats to the consumption of cheese made with plant coagulant from Solanum aethiopicum L. Shum (SA cheese), compared to calf rennet (CR) cheese and casein/sunflower oil diets. The body weight increased by 73, 80 and 84% in the control, SA cheese and CR cheese diet groups respectively. The consumption of SA cheese had protective effect on blood cells. Iron in serum decreased, with a low risk of iron deficiency anemia.

Description: The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of Ruzu herbal bitters (RHB) on some kidney function and hematological parameters of alloxan-induced diabetic rats. Fifty-four adult albino rats were divided into nine groups of six rats each. Group 1 was the normal control. Groups 2–6 were diabetic. Group 2 was not treated while groups 3 - 6 were respectively treated with 0.5 mg/kg b.w of glibenclamide, 0.14, 0.29 and 0.57 ml/kg b.w of RHB. Groups 7 - 9 were not diabetic but treated as groups 4 - 6.

Description: Face recognition is a challenging task as it involves treating a 3D object as a 2D image. In this paper, comparative analysis is performed for face recognition using different classifiers such as principal component analysis (PCA), linear discriminant analysis (LDA), Support vector machine (SVM), K nearest neighbor (KNN), Local histogram matching (LHM). Simulation examples are presented in which PCA and LDA classifiers have 98.5% recognition rate compared to other classifiers.

Description: A simple, selective, precise and accurate high performance liquid chromatographic method for the analysis of Ametoctactradin in its formulations was developed and validated in the present study. The mobile phase consists of a mixture of methanol and water in the proportion 70: 30 (v/v) respectively This was found to give sharp peak of Ametoctactradin at a run time of 15 min. HPLC analysis of Ametoctactradin was carried out at a wave length of 294 nm with a flow rate of 1.0mL/min.

Description: Effect of different management practices either alone or in combination in controlling okra mosaic disease was studied under natural condition laid out in the field in completely randomized block design. Especially the treatments used in the study, T0: control; T1: Foliar spray with Neem extract; T2: Foliar spray with Karamcha extract; T3: Foliar spray with Mahogoni extract combined with intercropping Amaranthus in the 1st sowing, Indian spinach in the second sowing and Jute in the 3rd sowing showed significant positive effect in the yield and yield promoting characters.

Description: Malaria is a potential deadly tropical disease and the most important of infectious diseases in the tropics and sub-tropics. The search for new antimalarial drugs has been necessitated by P. falciparum resistance to virtually all antimalarial drugs. In this study, the in vitro antimalarial activities of the leaf crude aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Cymbopogon citratus, a plant used by traditional healers to treat malaria and other diseases, was evaluated against P. falciparum.

Description: In-depth evaluation of mechanical defects of a 150 MVA, 330/132 kV power transformers windings was investigated in this study based on Frequency Response Analysis (FRA). The FRA, short circuit impedance and insulation resistances measurements were performed to deter-mine transformer windings deformation, mechanical defects, and insulation conditions of the transformer's windings using Frequency Re-sponse Analyzer and Megger insulation tester. The attenuation in decibel (dB) of the transmitted signal was measured over a frequency range from 20 Hz to 2 MHz.

Description: Northern Morocco, landslides play a role in the evolution of slopes. The geological and geotechnical studies of the ground are most often motivated by the search for solutions to a movement said. Thus, the objective of this work is to study the stability of the embankment with the passage of the vehicle PV113 section of the A2 highway between Oued Amlil and Taza. Stability calculations have concluded that the break is sliding rotational type, and a circular type failure, the surface would be at 10m depth. Action of water in the embankment and into the substrate altered favored pore pressure exceeds the shear strength, leading to the development of the driving forces sufficient to move. Materials marly slope physical characteristics favorable to landslides.
