Description: The paper considers one output parameter average temperature as a function of process cutting parameters speed of cut (v), feed rate (f) , depth cut (a) and insert nose radius (r) during machining of the stainless steel C 55 - DIN. The average temperature was measured by natural thermocouple and statistically processed by computer software CADEX developed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Skopje. Mat lab software was utilized for graphically presentation and calculation of experimental results, which has been obtained at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Metrology laboratory in Skopje. Description: This study present finding from the study conducted in Ikpa River in Uyo Local Government of Akwa Ibom State, in the South South of Nigeria. The method adopted for the study involved taking field measurement of the hydraulic geometry such as the depth and width of the river with a tape rule and a dumpy level. The mechanism of their contribution to improvement in dry strength arises from their capacity to become adsorbed to the cellulosic fibres and enhance bonding through formation of hydrogen bonds. Description: The study examined COVID-19 effects on consumer buying behaviour of departmental stores in Rivers State, Nigeria. The quantitative study adopted the correlational research design. A sample of 240 staff of departmental stores (comprising 100 customer attendants, 80 product delivers, and 60 management) was selected from 20 departmental stores in the study area. Description: A data structure is helpful for storing and organizing data within a computer system so that it can be accessed and worked with in appropri-ate ways. One of a data structure is a tree, a graph in which every node (except root) has only one parent. One application of a binary tree, a tree when each node has at most two child, is to develop a binary expression tree for mathematical expressions. In this paper, we develop a new algorithm which converts directly a given mathematical expression (infix form) to a binary expression tree without intermediate prefix or postfix forms. Description: Malaria disease, caused by anopheles mosquito, is transmitted through mosquito bite. The process of detecting malaria involves finger pricking to collect blood samples and smearing on the plate glass for drying, which later is scanned using a microscope to genegrate malaria cell images for malaria virus identification. The manual inspection of malaria cell images, however, is error prone and labor intensive. Consequently, in this paper, we apply a deep learning model, ConvNets, to automatically identify malaria virus by classifying malaria cell images.

Description: Cotton is the most important crop producing natural fibre which has been under commercial cultivation for domestic consumption and export needs. A research was carried out for the management of pink bollworm in BT Cotton using different modules as controlling methods at Cotton Research Station, Vehari, Pakistan during kharif season of 2016 and 2017. Among different modules, the lowest number of Pink bollworm (PBW) larvae (32.5/25 green bolls) and locule damage (71/100 fully opened bolls) was noticed in chemical control module followed by biological control module (47 larvae/25 green bolls; 102 damaged locules/100 fully opened bolls) and biological + chemical control module (52.5 larvae/25 green bolls; 105.5 damaged locules/100 fully opened bolls).

Description: Polysaccharides such as galactomannans and starch are found in Artocarpus sp. They are the natural polymers which can be used for the development of the pharmaceutical drug delivery system. The aim of this study was to compare the extraction of polysachharide from the seeds of Artocarpus heterophyllus (jackfruit) and A. hirsutus (wild jack) seeds. The results explained the highest extraction of soluble polysaccharide was achieved using combination of alcohol and alkali. Thus the cheapest method of isolation of pure polysaccharide was explored using the combination of alcohol and alkali. The insoluble polysaccharide was extracted using acid hydrolysis. FTIR method revealed the presence of various functional groups.

Description: In this work, an attempt is made to study the hallow core composite beam (HCCB) using steel sheet tubes. To determine the compressive strength, Flexural Strength of Hollow core Rectangular Composite Beam. Compare the Compressive Strength of the Rectangular Composite Beam with Standard Conventional Beam. To study the behaviour experimentally, six beams were cast for a size of 150 x 250 x 1200mm with conventional and HCCB profiles of same cross sectional area. The thickness of cold formed steel sheet used to fabricate the HCCB profile was 2mm. M25 grade concrete was used to cast the beams.

Description: Assessment of an indoor and outdoor background radiation in Science Laboratories of Adamawa State University, Mubi, was carried out using a well calibrated Geiger Muller counter; An in-situ approach of background radiation measurement was adopted and pre-ferred to enable samples maintain their original environmental characteristics. The dose equivalent results obtained from the fifteen (15) laboratories ranges from 0.028μSv/hr to 0.046μSv/hr with an average annual equivalent dose of 0.263mSv/yr for an indoor measurement while the outdoor values ranges from 0.620µsv/hr to 0.771µsv/hr with an average annual equivalent dose of 0.672mSv/yr.

Description: In this forecourt competition, we are provided a stringently mongrel division of Image Net in order to exercise fine-grained image cataloguing. The dataset contains images of dogs of different breeds. Deep Learning is a technique by which a computer program learns statistical patterns within the data that will enable it to recognize or help us to distinguish between the different breeds of dogs. The model trains itself on the different features based on the images present and represent the data numerically, organizing the data in space. Initially, the image is divided into numerous lattices and a training batch size is set accordingly; then an algorithm is used to split and combine the descriptors, and the channel information of the image is extracted as the input of the convolutional neural network; and finally, we design a convolutional neural network-based to identify the dog species.

Description: The aim of this study is to analyse the self-healing capability of high-strength fibre-reinforced concrete (M20) with fly ash and crystalline admixture (CA) in two types of environmental exposures i.e. Water Immersion (WI), Wet-Dry Cycles (WD). Specimens for four mixes are cast, one mix containing 1.5% of CA and three mixes with 10%, 20% and 30% partial replacement of cement with fly ash and additions of 1.5% CA. The specimens were pre-cracked at 28 days, in the range of 0.10-0.40 mm and the time set for healing was 42 days.

Description: The kinematic viscosities of the binary mixtures of ethyl acetoacetate with butan-2-one, pentan-3-one, 3-methylbutan-2-one and 4-methylpentan-2-one have been determined using single capillary Ostwald viscometer at various range of solvent composition at 298.15 K. The corresponding dynamic viscosities, η, at the different compositions were calculated from the experimental kinematic viscosity data. The excess viscosities, ηE of the binary mixtures and excess Gibbs free energies of activation for viscous flow, G*E, were derived from the dynamic viscosities and molar volumes of the mixtures.

Description: The effect of various NaCl concentrations on germination ability and physiological indices of F1 hybrids of wheat genotypes, which differ in productivity, drought tolerance and heights, has been studied. Wheat seeds were germinated in laboratoratory conditions at 0 mM, 50 mM, 100 mM and 150 mM concentrations of NaCl. With increasing salt concentration decrease in seed germination, in chlorophyll content, decrease in relative humidity of the leaves and the activity of photosystem 2 were observed in all samples. Salt effects were found to be different in various hybrids.

Description: The study examined the denizen nutritional therapy for elderly COPD patients predisposed to COVID-19 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria. The study adopted the descriptive research design. A sample of 150 respondents (comprising 91 nutritionists/food scientist, 26 dieticians, and 33 Home Economists) was selected from IAUE, RSU, UNIPORT, RSUTH, and UPTH in the study area. A 28-item 2 experts (i.e. 1 nutritionist and 1 dietician) validated 4-point scale instrument titled “Nutritional Therapy for Elderly COPD Patients Predisposed to COVID-19 Scale” (NUTECPPCS) with a reliability coefficient of 0.802 was used to elicit data analyzed using mean and standard deviation (with a criterion mean cutoff of 2.5).

Description: The aim of this paper is to understand the slip mechanism between the cold formed sheet and concrete, to predict the shear pull out test is used. In this paper cold formed sheet of 3mm thickness is used and a small stud is welded in top of sheet to reduce the shear. The cold formed sheet is given three different shapes which were not available in the market (v-shape, rectangle, trapezoidal) and without embossment. Description: Efficiencies of cryogenic systems are very low when compared with systems operating at higher temperatures. Efforts are required to improve the operating efficiency of cryogenic systems and thereby reduce the input power requirements. A large amount of power is lost along cryogenic systems due to chilldown process. The present work aims to improve the chill down characteristics along a spherical bed regenerator. The effect of porosity in a spherical bed generator is studied. Numerical simulations were conducted on a stainless steel spherical bed regenerator having porosities 0.4 and 0.5. The flow rate and other boundary conditions were kept constant for both the geometries. The CFD model was validated with the experiment data. Appreciable improvement in chill down was found with decrease in porosity.

Description: The process of fermentation in wine making turns grape juice into an alcoholic beverage. During fermenta-tion, yeasts transform sugars present in the juice into ethanol and carbon dioxide (as a by-product). In wine making, the temperature and speed of fermentation are important considerations as well as the levels of oxygen present in the must at the start of the fermentation. The most common yeast associated with wine making is Saccharomyces cerevisiae which has been favored due to its predictable and vigorous fermentation capabilities, tolerance of relatively high levels of alcohol and sulfur di-oxide as well as its ability to thrive in normal wine pH between 2.8 and 4.

Description: Lithofacies and palynological analyses of well cutting samples retrieved from KB-1 well located in the Coastal Swamp depositional belt of the Niger Delta Basin have been carried out in order to define paleodepositional environment and erect a biosequence stratigraphic frame so as to type and characterize different sand reservoirs formed within the sedimentary pile. Lithofacies analysis revealed sand, clay shale and coal as the lithotypes and twelve facies types ranging from silty shale to pebbly sands.

Description: Studies reveal that Acetylene gas produced from calcium carbide (CaC2) is renewable in nature and exhibits similar properties to those of hydrogen. An experimental investigation has been carried out on a single cylinder, Spark ignition (SI) engine tested with pure petrol and petrol- Acetylene dual fuel mode with diethyl ether as oxygenated additive. Experiments were conducted to study the performance characteristics of petrol engine in dual fuel mode by aspirating Acetylene gas in the inlet manifold, with petrol- diethyl ether blends as an ignition source.

Description: Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya has undergone substantial change both in structure and character. Over the years, there has been a gradual increase in the population of Shillong from about 223366 in 1991 to over 267662 in 2001 and further to 354759 in 2011 (Census Reports 1991, 2001 and 2011). Number of vehicles registered per year has also shown an increasing trend. The road density of Shillong is also very low compared to other cities of the country, which thereby leading to the problem of traffic congestion.
